Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security step in addition to your password to help keep your account safe. It is used for logging in, withdrawing funds, trading, and ZoomMe transactions.
Note: You must set up some form of 2FA within 3 logins to your account. If it is not set up by then, you will be required to configure biometrics or connect an external authenticator as described in this article. 2FA will always be required for logging in and withdrawing and cannot be turned off.
Warning: Setting up two-factor authentication can be challenging.
Crypto can be risky, and there are potential scams, rug pulls, pyramid schemes, and bad actors. Unlike with traditional banking, due to the nature of crypto, once funds are transferred they cannot be reversed and are gone forever.
The technical difficulty of two-factor authentication can help ward off and protect individuals that are higher risk.
This allows us to keep our community more protected and makes the platform more secure for everyone who participates responsibly. From your device's app store, find and install Google Authenticator:
There are two ways to set up 2-factor authentication: with a QR code or manually. If you use a QR code, you will need two devices (one can be a computer). Otherwise you can set it up manually and just use one device.

If you have a personal computer or another device and are having a difficult time connecting your authenticator we recommend skip to Set up with a Second Device.
Here are the steps for connecting an authenticator from just one app.
Copy the Secret Key
From the CoinZoom app, copy the secret key and paste it into Authenticator field "Your Key". The secret key is a 32 character string on the QR code screen inside the CoinZoom app. This will show after the 3rd login without some form of Two-factor authentication, and can also be pulled up under More -> Security -> Two-Factor Authentication -> Reveal 2FA Secret.

Warning: Your secret key should never be shared with anyone and should be kept in a safe place. You can use it to re-enable your 2FA if you ever delete the entry or lose or change your phone.
We recommend printing the key and storing it in a safe location where it is not likely to be discovered by others who could access your account without authorization.
Create Authenticator Code
Open your authenticator app on your mobile device (such as Google Authenticator) and tap + (usually in the bottom-right) and tap Enter a Setup Key.
Note: If it's your first time opening the app, it may take you directly to the set-up screen.
Name it something like, "CoinZoom" that helps you remember that the authenticator entry is connected with your account. Paste in the secret key you copied during the last step.
Leave the type of key as Time based. Tap the generated 6 digit code to copy it so you can paste it in the next step.
Now you should have a new entry called CoinZoom in your authenticator.
Enter the New Time-based One-Time Password (OTP) in CoinZoom
Go back to CoinZoom and paste the newly generated 6-digit one-time password (OTP) from your Authenticator. Then click Confirm to finish the setup.
Warning: The code expires after 30 or 60 seconds. It must be used before it expires or it will not work.

These instructions are for those who have access to another device, including a personal computer, which tends to make it easier to set up two-factor authentication (2FA). If you have a single device go back up to Setup With a Single Device.
Follow these steps to set up 2FA. These steps are for Google Authenticator, but are similar to any other authentication app you may use.
Reveal the QR Code in CoinZoom
On a computer or other device, login to trade.coinzoom.com and a QR code and instructions to set up an authentication. If it doesn't pop up right away you can click Settings -> Two-Factor Authentication -> Reveal QR Code. The QR code will be scanned by your mobile device to tie your external authenticator app and CoinZoom together.
Scan the QR Code with your Authenticator App
Open your authenticator app on your mobile device (such as Google Authenticator) and tap + (usually in the bottom-right) to scan a QR code.
