Wire transfers are often used to make large deposits in a secure and reliable way from your financial institution to CoinZoom. Wire transfers for deposits typically take 2-3 business days to complete and are initiated at your financial institution.
See this article comparing the different funding methods to understand posting and holding times.
Required Documentation
Before your wire can be processed by the bank, it is necessary for you to document where the funds came from. The Wire Deposit screen has a link to a source of funds verification form that you must fill out and submit at the time you submit the wire. You only need to submit additional source of funds forms on subsequent wire deposits if your source changes.
In addition to the source of funds document, the bank normally requires:
- 3 months of statements from the account your wire comes from
- Current transactions in your account (screenshot is fine) that shows the wire and balances before and after.
- Additional documents if the above is insufficient.
Securely upload documents here.
Note: Be sure to finalize the submission by checking your email and confirming you sent the form. Then return to the Wire Deposit screen and complete the request.
If the bank has further questions or needs additional documentation, we will email their request to you.
Wire Instructions
Note: Do not add anything to the special instructions that are not included in the instructions here.
To set up a wire transfer originating from a bank:
- Collect the information from the Wire Deposit screen on the web page (https://trade.coinzoom.com/portfolio/deposit) or from the app (Wallet -> Deposit -> Wire).
You must include all of the following items in your wire request as it currently shows on the desktop web page or mobile app:
Recipient name: That's you.
Recipient's address: Your address.
Account number: This identifies your CoinZoom account number at our bank.
Routing number: If your bank is in the US, you would normally use this to identify our bank.
SWIFT code: If your bank is outside the US, you would normally use this to identify our bank.
Note: Some US banks may need to use the SWIFT code for wires. Please use whichever your bank asks for.
Bank name: This is the name of our bank.
Bank address: This is the physical address of our bank.
Intermediate Bank: No need to add this information to your wire. This is the intermediate bank that we use.
Wire Fee: This is what we charge for the wire. Your bank will likely have a fee in addition.
- Send the information on the Wire Deposit Instructions screen to your financial institution where you want to initiate the transfer.
Withdrawal Hold Times
Wires may have a temporary withdrawal hold of 0-7 days. You may trade with the funds, but you can't withdraw or send the funds to someone else. The hold time is based on multiple factors and will show in the app after the wire has been posted.
Wires from 3rd Parties
Please see this article for information on 3rd-party and joint accounts.
Warning: Wires from 3rd parties will be sent back and the sender will be responsible for any fees CoinZoom or the financial institution may charge. 3rd parties are defined as a name on an originating account that doesn't match the name on the receiving CoinZoom account.
Processing Times
Wire transfers normally take 2-3 business days to arrive at CoinZoom and are usually posted to the account on the same or next business day. They are only posted on US business days.
Wire Fees
Currently CoinZoom has no fees for wire deposits. Your financial institution may charge you a fee for a wire transfer.
Warning for Returns: A $100 fee may be charged to your account for wire transfer returns. This includes returns of third-party wires, business wires sent to personal accounts, and failure to provide adequate source of funds documentation.
