When using your CoinZoom Visa Debit Card, some merchants may place a pre-authorization hold on your account. This is a temporary hold for a specific dollar amount when the final purchase amount is unknown.
For example, a gas station might place a pre-authorization for $80 before you begin pumping gas. Similarly, hotels and rental car agencies often place pre-authorization holds at check-in.
How Pre-Authorizations Work
- Pre-authorizations are usually released within 24 hours, but in some cases, it may take up to 30 days.
CoinZoom must wait for the merchant to send the final authorization before the hold can be lifted.
Once CoinZoom receives that notification, the pre-authorized funds are immediately released back to your available balance.
Important Notes
CoinZoom cannot manually remove or override a pre-authorization.
If a charge has not cleared and the funds remain on hold, contact the merchant directly to resolve the issue.
