When using your CoinZoom Visa Debit Card, some merchants may place a pre-authorization hold on your account. This is a temporary hold for a specific dollar amount when the final purchase amount is unknown.

For example, a gas station might place a pre-authorization for $80 before you begin pumping gas. Similarly, hotels and rental car agencies often place pre-authorization holds at check-in.

How Pre-Authorizations Work

  • Pre-authorizations are usually released within 24 hours, but in some cases, it may take up to 30 days.
  • CoinZoom must wait for the merchant to send the final authorization before the hold can be lifted.

  • Once CoinZoom receives that notification, the pre-authorized funds are immediately released back to your available balance.

Important Notes

  • CoinZoom cannot manually remove or override a pre-authorization.

  • If a charge has not cleared and the funds remain on hold, contact the merchant directly to resolve the issue.
