Using the Card

  • Open the Spend tab in the CoinZoom app (Portfolio → Spend on the web).
  • Select the crypto wallet you want your purchases to use.
  • At the point of sale or ATM, the card will automatically convert the crypto to USD.
  • If there are enough available funds in the selected wallet, the transaction will be approved and a market order will be placed to cover the purchase.
  • If there are not enough funds, the transaction will be declined and you will need to select a different crypto wallet.

For certain transactions (e.g., restaurants), added amounts like tips may not appear on your account until the next day.

Where You Can Use the Card

The CoinZoom Visa Debit Card works at:

  • Merchants that accept Visa

Pre-Authorization Holds

Some merchants place a temporary pre-authorization hold when the final amount is unknown:

  • Example: A gas station may pre-authorize $80, even if you only purchase $30 of fuel.
  • Once the final amount is confirmed, the actual charge replaces the hold.
  • Holds may take up to one day to resolve and can temporarily reduce available funds.

Common pre-authorization scenarios include gas stations, hotels, and rental car agencies.

International Currency Conversion

When making an international purchase in a different currency, Visa automatically converts the payment to USD.
